Those Meddling Kids

The Movement

We’re a grassroots resistance group made up of everyday people right here in Central Texas. Our mission is simple but powerful: to build power through joy, solidarity, and smart preparation. We believe democracy works best when regular people show up for each other and for our communities.

Since forming in summer 2025, we’ve done everything from crafting protest signs and showing up at rallies, to painting rocks, holding teach-ins, hosting candidate town halls, and creating safety and preparedness workshops. We’ve partnered with groups like the Heart of Texas Network for Immigrant Rights to fight for and support our immigrant neighbors when injustice finds them, as well as with local queer talent to provide a safe place to celebrate Pride Month. And we’re just getting started.

We know that resistance comes in many forms. Resistance is about building resilient communities. That’s why we focus on skill-sharing like food growing and emergency planning, but also DND nights and walks through Cameron Park.

These moments create relationships, and relationships create power.

Those Meddling Kids started with a handful of friends who all wanted to do something, but didn't know where to start. Our group was formed with two defining principles: First, we can all do something, but no one has to do everything. Second, the only way we make it through what's to come is together. Now, we are a network of over 100 members, all centered around community care, mutual aid, and defending democracy.

If you’re feeling powerless and alone, and want to get involved and find your people, Those Meddling Kids is here to help you find your lane in the fight for this democracy.

We’d love for you to join us, either at an upcoming event or online in our Discord and Signal chats. Together, we can build the kind of Waco, the kind of Texas, and the kind of country we all deserve.
